I’m not believing anything Newcastle says about Wissa. He was insane in the first half and you could see how Danemark had enough of it.

The thing to understand about Congo. They don’t have the playmakers of the west african teams. They’re not that fast, not great at dribbling, and not great at shooting. They’re a counterattacking team but their counterattack isn’t very explosive.
What they’re really good at is they usually don’t lose aerial duels in their own box. So they force you to beat them on the feet. Which isn’t super entertaining to watch and I don’t think they’re a super serious dark horse but they’re also not an easy side to just beat up.

You have a point. I think Wissa showed that they need someone else like a playmaker on the left to be more threatening in the final third. Masuaku and Kayembe are not forwards.

Anybody else confused about who Jensen was on midfield. Somehow I thought Mathias Jensen had retired or at least was only reserve. Not really the future at age 30.
