What would you prefer, that a dude born in Pompei and living in Torre Annunziata refuses to ref Napoli, or that he does and then if there’s ever a questionable call in Napoli’s favour people say he’s biased towards us and should have never been allowed to?

I would prefer that a professional act like it. And if for some weird reason they accept you can’t ref Napoli he shouldn’t ref any top 6 teams matches. Why create this weird dynamic for some average refs like him or Maresca

To find a match he refed for Inter and you lost you need to go back to 5.02.2022. 5 draws for Inter and 5 wins since then (If I counted properly) But somehow he is big evil. People really love to bitch about every ref for the sake of it

Doesn’t matter if inter won the games he ref. It’s conflict of interest and perception that matters. Even if he is fair, why risk it? Why accommodate a ref with specific demands. This is serie A not some Sunday league.

I think in England refs from Manchester cant ref for Manchester teams etc and they need to declare which team they support and they cant ref for them. Dont know how it works elsewhere but I dont see a problem.
