The disappointing part of Carboni’s loan is that he doesn’t play not because he isn’t good enough, it is because his effort has been spotty.

Damning substitution for Frattesi, Diouf hasn’t looked defensively solid in a central midfield role all season.
rth91391a day ago
The most frustrating thing about us is that we feel so flimsy at the back. Our frontline defense can be great all game like today, but as soon as we start having to defend in our defensive third we lose our heads a bit.

Something I can’t really understand is where was Sommer? Why is he all the way back on his line when that first long ball is being played?
danny2752a day ago
He hadn’t received a written invitation and confirmation to leave his line

Club needs to hire a sideline notary and paperboy to speed up the communication there

We don’t play with wingers, but we’ve still got like 6 guys who could do a job out there in a 4-3-3 if they had to.

ComradePoula4a day ago
Inter playing with this kind of intensity in a game like this is just insane to me. They’re like a pack of hounds any time they lose the ball.
rth91396a day ago
What bothers me is that we don’t play like this in bigger games. I understand that pressing like this has more risk against more talented teams, but the change should be that we’re more selective about when we press, not more passive in how we do it.
ComradePoula2a day ago
Most teams have players that can punish you if you play like this against them. You just need a couple of technical players and some speed on the counter to play through the press, which Genoa don’t really have.
So I understand why you don’t usually press like this against the bigger teams. But it’s still insane that you’re doing it after a midweek game as well.
rth91393a day ago
It is helping us a ton that Lautaro and Barella don’t have to worry about being able to go a full 90 every three days. Our added depth has a MASSIVE impact even when it’s not actually on the pitch.
makesyougohmmm116 hours ago
Only thing is, Pio has to learn to fall whenever he is being manhandled in the penalty area. I know it is not in the spirit of the game, but so too is manhandling an opponent.

A team with Inter’s results against the bottom half of the table and Milan’s results against the top half would walk Europe. I wonder what would that team be called?
rth91391a day ago
That does present a good thought exercise, what’s the best season ever if you combined two club’s results like this?
ComradePoula2a day ago
The closest one I could find is 88⁄89. But we would still miss the Coppa Italia in that case.
rth91391a day ago
I’ll bet if there was an easy way to do this you could find a season where a combined club scored like 110 points. Only need a few result flips when you have starting points like 2013⁄14 Juve with 102 points
ComradePoula1a day ago
Wouldn’t that just negate some of the results that the other team (Juve in that case) got?
rth91391a day ago
I was thinking more like you pick and choose based on opponents. So like you can take Juve’s results against everybody they got the double against, then you’re just looking for somebody who can improve on the 5 wins, 3 draws, and 2 losses Juve had against Inter, Fiorentina, Verona, Napoli, and Lazio

In Inter-Liverpool they would have been like 2 penalties for that!
rth91392a day ago
Bad decision to go down. I don’t think that was enough for a penalty, but I think if Sučić tries to stay up he either gets a really clean look or it would’ve have ended up enough for a pen
ComradePoula1a day ago
Never blame players for going down. Always go down when you can because you never know.
rth91391a day ago
True. Would’ve been a nailed on penalty with the ref from midweek
MangioSpaghetti🇮🇹1a day ago
Yeah he could’ve very easily snuck a foot to pass it to whoever was unmarked in the box (I think Lautaro)
ComradePoula2a day ago
Does Bisseck have a bet on how many shots he has to take or something? This is his 3rd shot in 25 minutes.
rth91392a day ago
He’s always good for a few shots a game when he’s finding himself that far up the pitch. In terms of the probability that he takes an opportunity to shoot that’s presented to him, he actually might be our most selfish player next to Hakan.
ComradePoula6a day ago
I hate how much I like Lautaro as a player. It’s unfair that they have him while we keep going through one striker after another.
rgm183a day ago
We don’t appreciate him enough
ComradePoula3a day ago
Really yeah. Even when he isn’t scoring, he still makes everyone else around him much better.

Yep, really hope he can stay healthy for our champions league final run this year
rth91391a day ago
That’s one of those where I wish Sučić (or whoever it would be there) would be more selfish. We are much too cute in trying to walk the ball in sometimes.
rth91392a day ago
Our new guys (Sučić, Diouf, and Henrique) all have such great close control. Henrique has a few nutmegs in him here and there, and Sučić has that lane change dribble move down pat.

Can they stop with that stupid orange ball? I basically have to narrate the game to my father since he’s colorblind. What’s even the point of an orange ball it’s not like with global warming we get snow in Italy anymore
rth91392a day ago
I forgot about the color blindness issue, but I do think they should choose the ball based on there being snow in the forecast. I’m not color blind and I don’t really love the orange ball here either.
There’s no reason they couldn’t switch balls mid game if they had to either.

It was very useful in Atalanta Verona actually with the intense fog
makesyougohmmm116 hours ago
Should be decided based on weather forecast or current weather conditions. Although also sometimes, the fog looks bad on TV than from the pitch.
