  • Senpiezza👤3a day ago

Brentford home support is like a MLS game

Where’s Brentford’s midfield gone the last 15 mins.

I’d like Leeds to stop up. They’re not a bad team, just unfortunate.

  • gizzledos2a day ago

This has hendo own goal (headed) written all over it

  • Baba-Elaichi0a day ago

Honestly fuck Leeds (for whooping our ass the other day)

    • Baba-Elaichi2a day ago

Shit, now they’re level! Fuck Brentford man, good for nothing

    FM legend Okafor doing well

  • aloeicious👤7a day ago

The only thing more boring than Brentford are their supporters 💀

    • [deleted]👤3a day ago

Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth. All a bit meh.

      • Boris_Ignatievich3a day ago

They’re all just historically lower league clubs, haven’t been in the top division long enough to build up a big fan base etc.

In 20 years when they’ve been no lower than the championship in forever they’ll be on a par with some of the “bigger” clubs they’re out performing

        • [deleted]👤1a day ago

But Brighton have been there touching ten years. Things change and yet if you removed them tomorrow I don’t know what we’d lose.

  • jman009🇪🇸2a day ago

That was so shit from bijol. Hold your line bruh

Damsgaard has played the best two passes of the entire match in the last 3 minutes

  • AGuy098👤7a day ago

Man this ref seems to dislike Gudmundson, it’s all one way calls when he’s involved

    • Senpiezza👤4a day ago

Said on our match thread, Gudmundsson looks very frustrated with this ref and making some tired decisions

  • AdequateAppendage3a day ago

    Ref needs two footing

  • GeorginioMetcalf4a day ago

So confused about this referee. He gave such a soft penalty with no hesitation, but he’s given pretty much nothing in the game besides that moment.

  • grehgunner0a day ago

I love not calling that. Defenders get that call all the time and it’s so weak

    • AdequateAppendage6a day ago

I’m on board with it as long as it’s in line with the same precedent set in that very match at least

  • AdministrativeLaugh24a day ago

The ref managed to give a penalty that absolutely wasn’t and has since refused to give anything. Terrible day for him

  • trav1892👤4a day ago

    Bro is a serial diver

  • Snugboo3a day ago

Why are they kicking a giant olive around

  • GeorginioMetcalf4a day ago

Moan all you want the ref just missed a studs on the ankle from behind

  • grehgunner2a day ago

    “LET THEM BLEED” -ref

  • bucajack3a day ago

Not even a card for that challenge?

  • AlchemicHawk3a day ago

    Fuck off Henderson

  • grehgunner4a day ago

How is that not a yellow lol

  • AdequateAppendage5a day ago

I mean that’s a literal assault on Tanaka he didn’t blow for

  • AdequateAppendage3a day ago

I’d appreciate a Brentford fan telling me that they truly believe that wasn’t more of a pull in the box than Gudmondsson’s was - haven’t had a good laugh yet today.

  • chanjitsu6a day ago

Not a pen either but more a pen then that other one (and the ref gave that one)

  • yay-its-colin5a day ago

Goes to show its not about how much contact is made, its about how much you scream on the way down

  • Boris_Ignatievich4a day ago

I don’t think either is a pen but that’s more of a foul than the one he blew for first half

  • Educational-Top2441👤4a day ago

Even more blatant pull and foul. Surely the referees know how inconsistent they are being inside single games, let alone over the course of a season

  • grehgunner4a day ago

I mean…. He gave one for less in the first half before it was offside

  • dadbod2344a day ago

That was more of a foul then the one he wanted to give them ffs

  • jman009🇪🇸3a day ago

I’m bout to get this game on now to see Tanaka score the winner

  • Muted-Art8476👤2a day ago

My bet has brentford winning, should I cash out? Looking like a draw in the works

  • _rickjames󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿1a day ago

Why the fuck you’d put Damsgaard on the bench for a home game when you’re desperately in need of a win is beyond md

  • Boris_Ignatievich4a day ago

Probably edging it on chances despite Brentford spending the entire match just outside our box - think the gameplan is working pretty well. Just need to not do owt daft like struijk tried to lead to the Lewis potter chance

I assume neutrals are delighted that this is the “marquee” game on telly today like, hardly thrill a minute is it

    • jovanmilic97👤2a day ago

First time I’m watching Brentford and I’m out of words. Better not speak my mind lol

  • Siddolio13a day ago

    Lewis-Potter is terrible

  • HannibalTheBarcid216-3a day ago

Really glad to have Jordan Tremendouson back in this league. Makes me feel like somewhat of a bee myself (along with the goalie, and I suppose the centre half too - fuck it, why not).

    • AlchemicHawk8a day ago

      Jesus Christ…

      • HannibalTheBarcid216-2a day ago

His wasn’t quite as good a return as Hendo’s, but it’s up there.

        • AlchemicHawk5a day ago

          You’re nauseating.

          • HannibalTheBarcid2160a day ago

            Thank you.

  • Klichouse5a day ago

3 Stach’s in midfield and we batter everybody

  • Tom_You8a day ago

How the fuck they’re calling that a foul and only reason it’s not a pen is because offside is beyond me.

  • Elemayowe2a day ago

    Saved by the sleeve lol

  • Technical-Rooster432👤-8a day ago

Fucking var is such a fucking, joke pile of shit. It’s just is.

    • AdministrativeLaugh27a day ago

      For rightly giving an offside?

  • ERLz19a day ago

If that’s a penalty, then we’d have 3-4 penalties in every match… Mindblowing that it’s ruled out for being offside and not for being not a foul whatsoever…

    • herkalurk2a day ago

Would love to see the PGMOL explanation if that went through….

      • lukey193a day ago

“There was contact” probably, which is just absolute bollocks. The guy feels the tiniest contact and goes down, awful from the ref to fall for it and even worse for VAR to not overturn. I get they don’t want to overturn 5050 decisions but that’s as clear as it gets that the contact is not enough to cause a foul.

  • jovanmilic97👤5a day ago

Leeds missing way too many nice chances in this half

  • Clean-Opening-2884👤14a day ago

Should never be a pen regardless of offside, he’s practically thrown himself on the ground

  • yay-its-colin12a day ago

Crazy the penalty was even blown for in the first place all because he shouted when he dropped to the ground.

  • chanjitsu9a day ago

Man, there’s soft and then there’s soft

  • High_Taco_Guy👤10a day ago

Terrible soft penalty saved by the offside lol

  • Om_Nom_Zombie-3a day ago

Feel like overturning for offside is a bit weird, he’s not exactly challenging for the ball and doesn’t try to play it.

Being “fouled” by a defender doesn’t make you commit an offside offence.

    • a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence

    • Lordzoot3a day ago

Please stop trying to analyse football.

    • nitrogeneater-1a day ago

That’s a good point. He is not in an offside position because he’s nowhere near the ball.

    • Educational-Top2441👤9a day ago

He’s clearly interfering with play because he’s the intended recipient of the ball, wut?

      • Om_Nom_Zombie-1a day ago

Being the intended recipient isn’t an offside offence.

        • AlchemicHawk4a day ago

He was offside when the ball was played and he affected play. It’s offside.

          • Om_Nom_Zombie0a day ago

            • a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence

            • Educational-Top2441👤3a day ago

an offence is committed against a player in an offside position who is already playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the offside offence is penalised as it has occurred before the foul challenge

              And also:

a player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent’s progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12

He’s definitely interfering with Gudmondsson’s ability to play the ball, ergo he’s offside

    • Competitive_Ad71👤10a day ago

He wasn’t fouled though, was he? Ouattara is a notorious diver.

      • Om_Nom_Zombie3a day ago

        “Fouled” for a reason.

    • AlchemicHawk6a day ago

Well it’s only given as a foul because he was deemed as being impeded going for the ball, which him being offside means he can’t affect play

      • Om_Nom_Zombie-2a day ago

But vaguely heading toward playing the ball in the future isn’t an offside offence.

He’s “fouled” before he’s committed an offside offence.

        • AdministrativeLaugh24a day ago

Being offside when the ball is kicked towards him and moving towards the ball is the offence. He only didn’t get near to the ball because Gudmundsson brought him down/he went down like a sack of shit

          • Om_Nom_Zombie0a day ago

That’s just not how offside works.

            • AlchemicHawk3a day ago

              It actually is though…..

              • Om_Nom_Zombie0a day ago

                • interfering with an opponent by:
                • preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
                • challenging an opponent for the ball or
clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
                • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball

Which one did he do? Because moving towards the ball sure as hell isn’t listed.

They do however have this in the laws:

                • a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence

                • AlchemicHawk2a day ago

Just accept you genuinely don’t have a fucking clue what you’re talking about. He’s challenging an opponent for the ball, he was offside. How you’re so ignorant to this is just embarrassing for you.

                  • Om_Nom_Zombie-1a day ago

                    • a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence

So funny to see you be so sure when you’re completely clueless.

                    • AlchemicHawk2a day ago

It says it right there. He was challenging an opponent for the ball.

                      Fuck me are you illiterate?

        • AlchemicHawk2a day ago

You’re completely wrong on all accounts.

  • DapperSpecial286512a day ago

Var room were bricking it there and bailed out by the offside

    • gunningIVglory7a day ago

100%, no way they go against the ref on that call

  • GeorginioMetcalf12a day ago

How the hell are we giving that penalty. A player throwing himself to the ground like that should never be rewarded

  • kopite998👤10a day ago

Ouatarra is a cheat. He’s been at it multiple times this season and the refs fall for it every time.

  • Rhino184-1a day ago

I hate when we look at offside to the centimeter. It’s ridiculous

    • AdministrativeLaugh25a day ago

You have to draw the line somewhere

      • Rhino184-2a day ago

The words clear and obvious error can be interpreted differently. If it’s so close that you can’t tell without going to super slo-mo then to me, it’s not clear nor obvious

        • AdministrativeLaugh23a day ago

He was offside and they didn’t go to “super slo-mo” to determine that. As with every offside, they picked a frame where the ball left his foot and let SAOT do its work.

Also, “clear and obvious” doesn’t apply to offside. Per the Premier League (emphasis added):

VAR can be used to overturn a subjective decision if a “clear and obvious error” has been identified.

          • Rhino184-1a day ago

You quoted something with the exact words I used to make the argument of subjectivity, which is what I’m literally discussing.

And yes, they literally went to slow motion throughout the review on the broadcast to look at the play

    • AlchemicHawk4a day ago

Have to draw a line somewhere and it’s irrelevant where that line is drawn

    • Ajax_Malone11a day ago

      I hate when shitheads dive

  • thesilenthurricane5a day ago

Aside from the offside either way, that should never have been given. It’s well established they always wave play on in those scenarios

  • RugbyTime6a day ago

The Premier League are really doing their best to make me like Leeds and I will not give in.

Ergo, clear pen - send off Gudmunsson and deduct them six points for the assault.

  • AdministrativeLaugh27a day ago

He looks offside anyway but that can surely never be a pen. He goes down incredibly easily and Gudmundsson doesn’t seem to impede him

  • ManunitedThunderfan4a day ago

Very soft but won’t be overturned.

    • gunningIVglory3a day ago

      Offside bailed out the ref

      No way VAR overturns that

  • gunningIVglory3a day ago

I’ve never seen a reverse shot for offside…..

  • AlchemicHawk6a day ago

If he’s onside it’s going to be given because “clear and obvious”, but the ball is nowhere near and that happens so many times and it isn’t given pretty much every single time

  • FoxMcCloudOwnsSlippy👤7a day ago

He went down very easily but if he’s given an inch….he takes a mile

  • herkalurk9a day ago

What a flop, he feels SOMETHING on him and just falls forward, never attempts to jump, just leans into the defender and goes over. Nearly broke Gudmundson’s leg earlier without a card, but this flop is penalty….

  • trav1892👤11a day ago

Not a pen. Knew he wasn’t getting to the ball n fell over.

  • RSK-Nik󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿11a day ago

    So soft never a pen

  • StringCheeseDoughnut4a day ago

    Think he’s offside anyway

  • airz23s_coffee5a day ago

They’re not gonna overturn it cos there’s some contact and therefore not “Clear and obvious”, but shocking call from ref

  • zi763a day ago

    Oh, offside

  • il_postino7a day ago

    That’s never a pen, surely

  • Om_Nom_Zombie5a day ago

    That surely gets overturned?

Ouattara continues being excellent at drawing penalties however

  • VengaBoysBackInTown6a day ago

    That cannot be a pen

  • zi762a day ago

He goes down very easily, but I don’t think it’ll be overturned.

  • CROBBY21a day ago

Looked harsh at first view, im good with that being called if its called that way every match.

    • HistoricalCoconut24a day ago

Not my sport if touching someone’s shoulder or chest is always judged a foul.

    • AGuy098👤3a day ago

That’s the problem, those are never called as pens

  • HistoricalCoconut27a day ago

    Surely not a penalty
