      You have to understand the context , France was a previous colonizer of Morocco , and Morocco was robbed in the 2022 WC semifinal against them , there is a history of unfair referees against european teams so this meant more than just a qualification to the final

      I judge it a bit like the rugby refs do for penalty tries - if you remove the offending part, would the play be meaningfully impacted?

      Here, if we cut off his arm, the ball (which was already pretty vertical), hits his body or the other French player behind, and bounces mostly in the same way.
