Obviously always happy seeing him score, but WHYYY does Lauti have to play a friendly when Argentina are already qualified for the WC??
We have an away game on Saturday where he is literally forced to play with barely any training, couldn’t he just rest? Sometimes I really wish national teams cared about these things…
KensaiVG1111 hours ago
Are you willing to have Inter rest him at the tail end of the season to avoid injuring him for the world cup?
ReporterFun8520👤-211 hours ago
From my point of view? If we’re doing ok, sure, but Inter are the ones paying him 10m per season, you know? He ALWAYS comes back in poor form from the NT and it’s so freaking annoying at this point.
HEAT_IS_DIE110 hours ago
Inter doesn’t own him. He provides a service for them, and they pay him. He also generates money for Inter.
You think of players only through their physique. What if for Lautaro to be in his best form, he needs to play for Argentina, because he gets positive energy mentally.
ReporterFun8520👤15 hours ago
I’ve seen the positive energy every time he came from NT and was absolute shit in the first 1-2 games
KensaiVG411 hours ago
Inter are the ones paying him 10m per season
Sure, and the grassroots setup that culminates in the NT taught him what hot water meant. By all means, build a squad around players that don’t care about their national team
ReporterFun8520👤-211 hours ago
It’s not about him caring about the NT. It’s about the staff having him play a meaningless friendly when they know he has to play without training because of Inter’s injuries. That’s it.
KensaiVG211 hours ago
Why should the Argentina NT staff have to put Inter’s desires above the NT’s?
ReporterFun8520👤-311 hours ago
Maybe because they should care about their player?
Also, why did they let Messi go out of the training camp to play for his club?
Albiceleste_D10S🇦🇷111 hours ago
Also, why did they let Messi go out of the training camp to play for his club?
Because both Argentina games and the Inter Miami game were all in the Miami area. Messi trained with the national team and played 90 mins in this 2nd game, so nothing was lost by letting him play for Inter Miami
ReporterFun8520👤-111 hours ago
Just like nothing would’ve been lost if Lautaro sat on the bench. It’s not like he’s a 20 year old you need to evaluate in a friendly, he’s a worldclass striker, you know what he can do.
Anyway, I’m just arguing online for nothing, but it’s really annoying. Inter’s staff were really careful with him — managing his back issues and subbing him off whenever he wasn’t absolutely needed — but apparently, that consideration isn’t being reciprocated.
Albiceleste_D10S🇦🇷111 hours ago

As I said initially (which you ignored), Lautaro prob wants to play because he is competing with Julian for the starting 9 job at the World Cup
. Inter’s staff were really careful with him — managing his back issues and subbing him off whenever he wasn’t absolutely needed — but apparently, that consideration isn’t being reciprocated.
I’m sorry but that’s BS. The amount of times Lautaro has come to NT camp exhausted and run down with niggles because Inter overplayed him over the past few years is MANY
Not to mention how over the top of a reaction that is to Lautaro getting subbed on to play literally less than 30 mins today

I feel like when we start team moves these days our passing is always a little off and they break down. There’s something not… as crisp as before. There was a moment just before the end of the first half where we raised the tempo of our passing, but the move broke down where someone on the forward line, received the pass, but then looked to pass the ball on into empty space where there was no one. In the end, someone in our midfield had to jog across from his position to collect the ball.
It’s a trend I’ve been seeing happening more and more often since the end of the 2022 World Cup, when it was much less prominent occurrence before that. Losing the ball in these team moves when we used to at least fashion together a chance from these team moves. It’s nit-picky but against better opposition, they can punish us in a turnover. When we’ve lost games this cycle, such as against Ecuador, the main complaint has been the fact we’ve been sloppy on the ball in passing against stronger teams. These little mistakes need to be ironed out.

This game was supposed to be in Chicago (until the ICE actions forced them to move it)
Very last minute ticket sales
unicosobreviviente👤113 hours ago
That’s what they said but the main reason was due to poor ticket sales. I was planning to go to Chicago on the 13th from Ohio and the cheapest tickets I found were $150 before taxes and those extra fees on Ticketmaster. It was ridiculous for high-level seats
Albiceleste_D10S🇦🇷112 hours ago
If the price was that high, I’m sure there were a lot of unsold seats at the time of the change of venue—I do think the ICE raids were at minimum a big factor in the change tho.
Makes no sense to host a game that would be full of Latinos in a place overrun by ICE
unicosobreviviente👤112 hours ago
Nah, they just used that as a last min excuse to have the game moved to Miami. No one was going to pay $+150 for nosebleed seats to watch the Argentina B squad

This game was supposed to be in Chicago (until the ICE actions forced them to move it)
Very last minute ticket sales
That’s what they said but the main reason was due to poor ticket sales. I was planning to go to Chicago on the 13th from Ohio and the cheapest tickets I found were $150 before taxes and those extra fees on Ticketmaster. It was ridiculous for high-level seats
If the price was that high, I’m sure there were a lot of unsold seats at the time of the change of venue—I do think the ICE raids were at minimum a big factor in the change tho.
Makes no sense to host a game that would be full of Latinos in a place overrun by ICE
Nah, they just used that as a last min excuse to have the game moved to Miami. No one was going to pay $+150 for nosebleed seats to watch the Argentina B squad
I was wondering this. This was supposed to be a huge draw.
😬👍🏻
Argentina really didn’t need to bring their A team for this, why not test out some newbies? Lol
We integrate slowly as someone said. Also I don’t feel like we’ve gelled as a team properly like before the World Cup. Not really getting the champagne football vibes… the more games they play together the better.
He’s testing out Flaco Lopez for the first time and trying out Nico Gonzalez as the left back. He tried out some new faces last game too, Scaloni integrates slowly.
Limited game time pre-WC—it doesn’t make sense to play none of the first team
As it is Scaloni is testing the back 3⁄5 with Nico and Giuliano as wingbacks, giving Balerdi another chance at CB and giving Flaco Lopez a debut up top
Por qué lo decís como si fuera la última chance que tiene Balerdi de que no lo echen de la selección?
Balerdi made a big error the last time he played against Ecuador, and then Senesi was given the start last game with most of the starters
Given Otamendi’s age, a starting spot next to Cuti at the World Cup is on the line
Who did Scaloni start with the starting team last game?
If the World Cup starts tomorrow, who starts next to Cuti?
right now it would be Otamendi, but hopefully by next summer it’s between Lisandro, Senesi and Balerdi
Pero el mundial no arranca mañana, y el Licha está terminando su recuperación de la lesión. Igual Balerdi va al mundial casi que seguro, porque Scaloni no es termo.
Y somos dos argentinos hablando entre nosotros, no seas como los mexicanos.
This is our C team + 3⁄4 starters
They gotta get the team chemistry and tactics right in live action, helps against lower level teams
Poné a los pibes Scaloni
10-0 right?
right?
LFGGGG
Messi at least should get a hattrick right, RIGHT?!😭
bro
XD
nahhhh Braceman gonna brace
It’s being reported as a 4-4-2 but I suspect this is Scaloni trialling a 3-5-2 with Giuliano and Nico G as wingbacks
Good to see Balerdi get another game, and Flaco Lopez gets his debut (and chance to be the 3rd striker at the World Cup)
Why is the US anthem being played?
Puerto Rico is a US territory
I know. They have their own anthem though. And the US anthem was sang way before the players took the field. Just curious why that was.
Probably just standard ‘Merica stuff then since it’s being played in the US
Predictions?
Bet the house in Puerto Rico win
Bet just put my life savings bro im taking your word
