The official live YouTube stream should be available in countries that do not have a broadcasting agreement with the J.League!

    Albirex Niigata take the lead!

Kumasaka loses the ball in midfield and Komi drives forward, a nice pass into the box for Hasegawa but he’s taken down by Naruse.

Komi does his usual stutter step penalty to score!

    1-0

Watai with the equalizer for the home side!

Kubo dribbles toward the box from the Right, Yamada makes an underlap into the box to receive and lays it off for Watai with a calm low finish in the near corner!

    1-1

Probably not the thread to ask this, but can anyone well versed in Japanese football tell me what the hell is going on in Sapporo? From being a stable J1 League club to doing a Sunderland and now being relegation candidates in J2 straight after relegation from J1

They were “stable” for a while but performances were getting worse and worse under Mischa Petrovic who absolutely refused to compromise on his style of play that was costing them goals left, right, and center.

Last two~three years they were lucky to not get relegated but finally it happened in 2024.

Daiki Iwamasa has come in but he has a pretty poor track record and has done poorly. Of course not entirely his fault as the squad is still very much under the influence of Petrovic’s long tenure at the club.
