TheUderfrykte2a month ago
How, why? This is the EL group stage. All that matters is getting enough points to go further, which we both seem to be doing fine on.
When we subbed on some more balance, we looked better, yes, but we’re also among the best teams in the tournament so that’s fine.
It’s not like you just got outplayed by a huge underdog, and you got the points. Be happy, job done!
You can start getting mad if they underperform in the KO rounds or advancement is in danger, but everything else in this new format is just fine imo
ssgtgriggs2a month ago
I’m mad because we’re doing the hard things right and fucking up the basics haha. I don’t think we’re bad by any means but this isn’t our skill ceiling, not by a long shot. This is easily our best squad since those Sneijder/Drogba days 10 years ago but our issues have been so obvious for a year and a half and we’re still struggling to fix them. It’s just frustrating to see how we constantly fail to reward our good performances and lose points because we run out of steam after 65 minutes. Gala fans have ass cheeks of steel by now because we’re always clenching lmao
TheUderfrykte2a month ago
Trust me, I know that feeling, it’s been our story for ages as well lmao
However I don’t think it’s something that necessarily continues forever. I dont know if you usually play with this intensity (or even if it was quite AS intense as it looked, because the comparison to our first half intensity might make it look more so lmao) but it could be that exactly that kind of intensity kills you later in games.
That’d be a job of balancing, conditioning or a couple other possible fixes. I’m sure your coaches are working on it, and if it IS the price of the high intensity great game you play early on, maybe the tradeoff is worth it? Anyway, you look class.
I said time and again I won’t judge you based on how you compared to our B team out there today, but I will judge you based on your own team - and that looked pretty damn good.
ssgtgriggs2a month ago
you were absolutely right btw, now in hindsight lmao my bodily passions just got to me in the moment haha
ljeschiπ€2a month ago
Intensity of Galatasaray came because they had no games last week pass by due to fixture. Tottenham had a game last sunday if im not mistaken. They are as well in favor with fixture in Turkish League playing 5 games consecutive at home during these dense game period. They had well deserved win but without red card & missing player it would be a different score IMHO.

TheUderfrykte0a month ago
No, we will act like it was a pretty meaningless game that we played with a B team way out of their depth, rather than the huge European final we got battered with a full strength team that this thread and all Gala fans want to make themselves believe lmao
Gloomy-Boysenberry-3π€0a month ago
cope
anonymonur2a month ago
Why should Gala fans care about what team you fielded lol
We won against arguably the strongest team in this competition while having loads of chances so of course fans are gonna be hyped
TheUderfrykte5a month ago
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be happy, I literally told one of your fans they should lmao
I’m just saying this thread went overboard and kept acting like it was a hugely important game and our first XI got battered.
By all means, I think we’re both pretty solid and should be amongst the favorites for this competition. I’m just saying that this game, both in how it went and the result, isn’t indicative of anything really because of the circumstances.
I dont judge your side based off how many you scored or could’ve scored against our B team, I judge your side based off how good they seem to be. And that’s pretty good.
anonymonur1a month ago
Thatβs fair I guess. Tbh, people tend to overlook the frequent rotating of English Teams in lower European Competitions even though they do rotate quite heavily
TheUderfrykte3a month ago
Unless it’s their own club! No, honestly most English club fans are probably aware or wouldn’t care, they just take the opportunity to banter us.
Everyone else though? Yeah, lots just see the performance or even just result and assume things. Context matters a lot - I think even with a stronger team in general but that same defensive line, we’d have struggled, simply because this is the kind of game that line can’t play. So if we do face you again in the knockouts and don’t have VDV or Romero, I’m gonna be pretty nervous!
Your team is obviously pretty good, no matter whether they play our youth, B team or starters. I just wouldn’t go into hyperbole about any comparisons because of this one game.
anonymonur1a month ago
I hope we can live up to the expectations π
LDKCPπ€1a month ago
Remember it’s the team that have won who are silly for celebrating. The real fans appreciate the totally sensible loss.
TheUderfrykte1a month ago
I never said they shouldn’t be happy about the win, I literally told one of them to be happy earlier.
Are you honestly implying I should be mad about this loss? Is nuance and context completely meaningless to you?
This is fine, nothing more and nothing less. It would’ve been horrible had Kulu actually gotten injured, but seems like he didn’t. Probably would’ve been better if we didn’t sub on the first teamers we did, but they shouldn’t be too knackered for the weekend either.
LDKCPπ€-2a month ago
For a manager that goes on about being a winner, throwing a competitive European match is certainly not the mentality he talks about. It’s more in keeping with Spurs overall mentality. In fairness you are very good and gracious losers.
You keep calling this game meaningless, why is it any more or less meaningless than Ipswich on the weekend? Don’t you want to top the group stages?
You Spurs fans need to be studied.
TheUderfrykte2a month ago
So if we were already through to the next round and away in Siberia, Ange would have to play the best 11 just because otherwise it’s not very “winner”? You’re either just spouting off for the sake of it, or you’re clueless. He didn’t throw it. He gave youngsters and some of the more fringe / out of form players a chance, in a game that didn’t mean as much to our season.
Was that question serious? It is more meaningless because we have 9 points out of 4 games, and are pretty safe to go through to the next round. We should be able to win against any team we face in this competition, and if we don’t then that’s on us on that day. We don’t need to top the group stage, making top 8 is enough to get us where we need.
Meanwhile in the PL, we had some unlucky results and 2 pretty bad games, which led to a bad start. We’re recovering from that, so the game against Ipswich is a must win to actually get back to where we want to be. While in the EL top 8 means we go to the next round without any issue, in the PL we want top 4 ideally this season. That’s obviously both a higher goal, and more games to play to get there. Thus we have to try and maximize our results there and not fall behind. If that entire concept doesn’t make sense to you, that’s on you.
It’s not just spurs fans, it’s an age old concept that fans and clubs have used a lot. Focusing on the league is sometimes necessary and sensible, and it’s especially so if you can currently take the European cup easy and have some injury issues
LDKCPπ€-3a month ago
You aren’t through yet, and the same logic can be applied to Ipswich, if you can’t win that, that’s on you. The team selection made the loss much more likely, this wasn’t a light rotation, it was wholesale.
I’m not like you, I want a manager who tries to win games in Europe. I want a team with a winning mentality. There aren’t any competitive games that are good to lose. It’s also disrespectful to the travelling fans, but they are Spurs fans so they probably love this tactical defeat.
Like I say, this is your mentality, it’s fine because all your fans seem happy with it, it runs right through the club and your winner manager has got on board.
It’s nothing personal, I just don’t understand not wanting your team to try and win every game, to finish as high as possible in all the competitions they aim to win.
A winner of a manager would have done everything possible to win this game AND the one at home to Ispwich on Sunday.
TheUderfrykte1a month ago
We are a lot closer to the points needed to get through than we are to the points needed for top 4. We also face easier opposition than Gala away, and have won all 3 before today. We’ll be fine in the EL.
Putting out a strong XI today makes the Ipswich game harder, but doesn’t make the hypothetical knockout round game down the line easier, so it does nothing for us.
You’re a clown if you act like this isn’t something every single club does. Sergio Ramos famously got a ban for a game that he thought his team would win so he would be available for a later, harder game.
Real Madrid does it, everyone does it. The way you’re going on about it is idealistic, but incredibly naive.
Would I PREFER winning every single game ever? Sure. But the squad isn’t there, and no squad ever will be, so I much prefer clever management of resources over going all out everywhere always and burning out halfway through the season - which we’ve experienced before, BTW.
Why would we aim to be as high as possible in the EL table? That doesn’t win it. I believe Ange is aiming to win it, but he doesn’t have to come first in the table for that. One of the seasons Real won the CL, they finished the group behind us.
You’re either biased against Spurs and just trying to find an angle to put the club down, or you really do think this way, but if it’s the latter then you should rethink. I’m not saying don’t hold onto the idealistic view, hope for it and aim for it. But keep the realistic perspective as well.
LDKCPπ€-1a month ago
This entire ramble is pointless. Your manager threw the game. You aren’t interested in finishing higher in the table? Ramos made a calculation knowing his team would likely still win. Ange knew this would likely be a loss.
A winning team has a winning mentality. They are supposed to be competitive and care about winning, playing with pride and aiming to win every ball in every game. If they see the manager not caring about games…it’s hardly inspiring.
The “it’s fine to lose” mentality is already embedded at Spurs. Just today your former captain criticized it, nothing had changed.

I said time and again I won’t judge you based on how you compared to our B team out there today, but I will judge you based on your own team - and that looked pretty damn good.
you were absolutely right btw, now in hindsight lmao my bodily passions just got to me in the moment haha
Best performance overshadowed by the worst ending. Why Gala? Still most valuable 3 point from the best team in Europa League.
Battle of the bottlers this game
Ball in play for maybe 90 seconds out of 7 minutes.
Iβm somehow disappointed not to have won this. Christ Gala have been bad this half and Spurs just havenβt taken the chances
Nice win.
Spurs with the full 11 : I sleep
Spurs with 10 : real shit?
What is happening?
Galata’s got such a high line, as if they’re 2 goals down
And Spurs barely bothering to attack, as if they’re 3 goals up.
we donβt know any other tactic
That one moment at the 90min mark, where Spurs were SupposeD to have a counter, but only 1 player went beyond the half way point was so weird. Especially since Galata’s def wasn’t moving at all… from the half way line.
Lol, this.
This Yilmaz dude is a comedian
If this ends 3-2 Spurs fans will act like it’s a great result rather than Gala being shite for the last half hour.
Gala were shit. If we had 9 we’d have won easily.
No, we will act like it was a pretty meaningless game that we played with a B team way out of their depth, rather than the huge European final we got battered with a full strength team that this thread and all Gala fans want to make themselves believe lmao
cope
Why should Gala fans care about what team you fielded lol We won against arguably the strongest team in this competition while having loads of chances so of course fans are gonna be hyped
Thatβs fair I guess. Tbh, people tend to overlook the frequent rotating of English Teams in lower European Competitions even though they do rotate quite heavily
I hope we can live up to the expectations π
Remember it’s the team that have won who are silly for celebrating. The real fans appreciate the totally sensible loss.
Proper Spurs mentality. Good loss lads.
Is it just me or do the spurs players in the second half look much better than GS individually?
fatigueΒ
Ref fucked us with that red card, we were fine until then
I hate short fucking free kicks just fucking get it in the mixer fuck meeeeeee
Such a poor quality second half
Fucking sell baris im begging you man
Spurs got yellows for touch fouls while Gala just took 3 minutes on a goal kick and another minute on a throw in. Gala’s injury causing tackles aren’t fouls, while anything Spurs did was a yellow.
Was funny seeing Bentancur get yellow for Galatasaray’s time wasting
Welcome to the fenerwagon
It wasn’t the referee who lost you this game, Gala’s poor finishing saved you from an absolute pounding.
They never claimed the ref lost us the game. The ref was shit and we also lost. Those two statements can be true without being linked.
worst option
every decision has been wrong…
Gala play football like a 12 year old on FIFA and Spurs aren’t too different. Crazy match.
This isn’t how Spurs play football.
We’ve just had a terrible match.
Isnt how we normally play.
I was just thinking the same. Looks like the want every pass to be one touch finesse and every shot to be a banger
it’s more fun that way if you don’t mind the regular heart attacks
Yilmaz has been bad
Overshadowing your top notch performance with such a bad ending. FFS
yeah that’s not gonna help the spurs gonna spurs curse
honestly great game love it kulusevski has to score, would top it off that
clown show
Spurs players look shattered. Gala are there for the taking but no oneβs making runs
Kulu shocker
Oofers
broooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
my heart sank
Fuuuuck. Had to try it. Would’ve been a hell of an end.
official actually participating in time wasting
If Werner was playing Spurs win this π
Bro you have to make that
That would have been crazy lmao
Disappointing for a professional player
Honestly I think that goes down as bad miss from Kulu
Agree he had plenty of time
That spurs player on the left that refuses to pass is going my nut in
How is this ref constantly getting in the way
He’s not that mobile.
[deleted]
I’ll shame you by rooting for Fener later despite you.
This game could have been 7-1 but also could end up being 3-3 what a joke. Gala is shit after 70 like every other big game.
Gala has 10 shots on target. Are they great stops by Spurs GK or just bad misses?
Both foster some good saves 1v1 but some misses by Osimhen too
That’s because the refs don’t stop the game every other second like they do in Turkey so that don’t get to slow the game down. This goes for any Turkish team in Europe not just Galatasaray and is indicative of the terrible state of the game in Turkey.
Are kidding me? The game stopped like 10 mins today after 70.
Classic gentlemansaray taking it easy after the opponent gets red card
What the hell are the Galatasaray fans booing???
Boo your own team that should be up fifteen goals already and then had ten minutes with their players down laying on the ground, not us who are actually trying to play the game.
lmao crybaby detected
Nope.
Not at all.
Galatasaray deserved to win and congratulations to you man.
If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll realize it’s true though.
They were whining and crying, it’s like, wow people, just enjoy the fact that your team is doing incredibly against a Premier League club.
Anyways, who cares? On to the next game.
They want wins not entertainment. Turkish way.
7? Get to fuck. Double digits minimum.
how are we so fuckin shit agains 10 men im losing my mind
Because Spurs subbed in half decent players. Spurs senior squad is miles ahead of Gala despite what this thread forced itself to try and think.
Should’ve never rotated in senior players. This game means nothing and Kulusevski got injured.
Yeah tbh I don’t get it either. Defeats the whole purpose of rotating. Then again, maybe preventing a huge loss that hurts morale is worth it. I’m fine with taking Son off as he’s coming back and putting on another good player there, but other than that I’m not sure.
Seems crazy to start with a second strong to avoid injuries then put them on anyway when inevitably losing.
Sanchez was awesome today. Absolute bargain for 10m.
Missed the scene, what happened to Icardi?
He had an urgent flight to Argentina.
He hurt himself running
This is like watching conte days bissouma
Feel like the balls been in play for about a minute since the 70th minute
Clear as day trip and no foul. This is just comical.
The tnt commentators sound like their on xanax thats how fucking boring they are
Weirdly it has never felt like Spurs are down by one man.
They are playing way better since they are 10 men
Gala is famous for getting tired after 70.
We are great playing with 10
Felt like they were down a man when they weren’t
Agreed. Subs taking effect I feel, more of a “first team” out there even though we only took off one kid.
But Maddison is out of form, Son and Johnson clearly aren’t nearly as effective on their own.
Obviously the defense is still a horrendous frankensteins monster.
I was actually thinking “why not just put the house on Gala winning”
Player finally gets a legitimate head injury that should stop the game and Gala tries to tackle 4 times during the stoppage.
Both players did not hear the whistle ya donkey
stop whining
Ziyechs been quality since coming on
As expected from him against us.
Heβs been very bad the last months lol
:(
Ball to the face. The Benny Hill music must not stop.
A simple through ball either to the left or right.
Neither.
Plays it to the middle, the only place a Gala player can make an interception.
If this is what the average turkish superliga match is then fuck me
Almost(!) no one plays open football against us, so that’s rare to see. They generally stand in their own yard, so it becomes a drag sometimes. But we are good at bottling it.
This spurs time wasting is ridiculous. Get up mate play on /s
I know people can be cynical about faking injuries but sometimes players get injured.
I swear if the David Busst tackle happened today people on here would say he was faking his leg snapping in half.
Thereβs incredibly good reason to be cynical about it in this match though. If players want to be taken seriously when theyβre actually hurt they should stop faking it every chance they get.
Mate I thought the lino was gonna two foot Gray then
we might have the worst subs of all time
Spurs Europa stats.
GD with 10 men +4
GD with 11 men 0
Gala should’ve been up by 3 or 4 and have managed this terribly after the send off.
We managed to play 2-2 from 2-0 up against Rigas and 4-3 up from 3-0 against Elfsborg. Is it really a surprise at this point?
Makes sense why the stadium whistling got so bad so early then.
Standard and expected. We tend to score 3 goals and then fall apart, week after week.
This ref keeps getting in the way
Every single Spurs pass leading the player by five yards instead of playing it into feet.
It’s Gala’s turn to hit the benny hill music
OMG that cross by Yilmaz I am dying here
Rarely watch Spurs but Im shocked how disorganised their build up looks and how many technical errors they make
Our B team playing like amateurs is tradition at this point
This has been mostly their youth squad during an injury crisis. Watch them against City or Villa earlier this week.
It’s funny how many people don’t know or ignore that.
Tbf I get it with some rival fans, they’re clearly just taking the opportunity, but all these people acting like our full strength team got annihilated in a crucial game here is sort of hilarious
Isn’t it like half of their regular starting lineup?
It is now, the start was much more rotated. Weβve also gone down a man since bringing on the regulars though so swings and roundabouts
The starting lineup had Son, Johnson, Maddison, Bissouma, and Porro. Aren’t they all starters?
It’s a B squad with injuries, nothing should be surprising about this.
Michy replacing Osimhen would have been iconic. Batman replacing Batman.
It happens on a regular basis tho
Galata has Icardi, Oshimen, Demirbay, AND Michy?
A bit much no?
One is not like others
Best squad since 2012
Why is Demirbay in this list π
Finally a shoulder shove benefits spurs even though bentancur didn’t keep possession.
just throw some lime on him and carry on
The inevitable 4-6 minutes stoppage time will be disgusting
They better hit us with the +10 mins added
Going to be +3 after Gala spent 92 minutes on the ground rolling around this game.
This is embarrassing.
Bro is prolly out for months and people here think he’s faking it lmao.
I didnβt want to say, what I think after he was carried off lol.
If your whole team hadnβt spent this whole half time wasting he might get more sympathy
Leaving on a stretcher and the team is down a man while the ball is still in play. He has really committed to the act lol
Samsunspor match on Sunday will be spicy
Why does the ref keep stopping the game for these injuries?
erm what else is he supposed to do mate
Pretty sure you don’t have to stop the game unless there’s a head injury.
The ref can stop play due to any kind of serious injury, not just head ones
You don’t have to, but you can. It’s called not being a cunt
Because the player is injured?
Lmao did this idiot really sub Osimhen off?
bro couldn’t have done that two minutes ago?
This official has played into Gala’s game plan at any opportunity possible.
Pathetic timewasting
?
Never seen GS’ attack that good β¦
